Pierre-Alain Dahan

Pierre-Alain Dahan (born March 1, 1943 in Oran , Algeria , † December 23, 2013 in Le Thor ) was a French jazz and entertainment musician ( drums , songwriter ) who also emerged as a film composer .

Dahan played in the early 1960s in Jef Gilson's septet , which was the first recordings for the Spirit jazz label . Besides Gilson Orchestra, he also worked in the big band of Ivan Jullien , further comprising Barney Kessel . In the early 1970s he played in Philippe Sarde's orchestra on the soundtrack of César and Rosalie , on which he can also be heard in a trio constellation with Pierre Gossez and Guy Pedersen . During this decade he also played with Claude Bolling and Stéphane Grappelli , in 1980 with Jean-Claude Petit ( The Best of All Possible Worlds ). Starting in 1971, he published a number of instrumental albums under his own name, which range in the genres of pop music , electro , disco and easy listening . In later years he worked outside of jazz with the musician Marc Chantereau , for example in the group Voyage . In the field of jazz he was involved in 10 recording sessions between 1967 and 2011.
