Pierre Woodman (born April 29, 1963 in Auvergne ) is a French photographer and director of porn films . He has been one of its most prolific photographers and directors since his debut in the porn industry in 1993, and has earned both notoriety and sizable fortune from working for the major pornography producers Private and Hustler .

The pseudonym Woodman goes back to Woodman's youth, when he was so good at climbing trees that his friends nicknamed him l'homme du bois ( forest man ). When he joined the military at age 18, he then codenamed Woodman . It wasn't until much later that he realized that this name also has a sexual connotation in English ( wood means something like erection in slang ).

At the age of 20 Woodman went to the police , now in Paris . In 1986 he left the police and was first a studio photographer for the French TV channel TF1 , then in 1988 a photographer for fashion magazines. In 1989, at the age of 26, he became a photo reporter for the French magazine Hot Vidéo , which covers the porn scene. In 1990, on the occasion of a report for Hot Vidéo, I met Berth Milton sr. and Berth Milton Jr. by private. Woodman worked with private director Michel Ricaud, whom he had met earlier, and cast actresses for him. In 1992 Woodman signed an exclusive contract with Private and photographed hardcore photo series for their pornographic magazines. In 1993 the first porn video was directed. After Ricaud's death in 1994, Woodman became the top director of Private.

Woodman produced ever more elaborate films for private people that he shot in exotic locations such as Bali, Egypt or South Africa. His 1994 film The Tower was first released in three parts. Other large-scale productions were u. a. The Pyramid from 1996 (with an unimaginable budget of 1.2 million dollars for a porn production) and Tatiana from 1997. The films, massively promoted by Private, were very popular and also regularly won industry awards such as the Hot d'or thoughtful.

Woodman's success grew so great that it threatened to outshine the Private brand name. In 1999, at the height of his success, he moved to Larry Flynt's Hustler empire with a $ 5 million contract , for which he continued to shoot and shoot. After five years, he ended his collaboration with Hustler and returned to Private in 2005, for whom he produced the three-part film Sex City (a porn adaptation of the film Sin City ). At the end of 2006 Woodman founded his own production company Woodman Entertainment , which subsequently engaged the actresses Caylian Curtis , Divinity Love and Nessa Devil with exclusive contracts and in May 2007 brought the first films onto the market.

The “trademark” of Woodman's photos and film productions are the mostly unknown young actresses. While he usually relies on proven actors who can be seen again and again with the male actors, he is constantly looking for new actresses. Mostly these are from Hungary, Russia, Ukraine or the Baltic states. Potential new actresses are recommended to him by agencies that work for him or by others. The casting interview is carried out by him personally, usually with the help of an interpreter. He also records these casting dates, on which the actresses are also shown naked, on video and has thus established a second video series in the "Gonzo" style in addition to the film productions, with over 60 editions under various titles by Private and Hustler with seven or eight casting calls at a time. Woodman often has sexual intercourse with his new actresses himself at these auditions. Through a casting interview in Riga in 1994, Woodman also met the actress Tania Russof , who was built into a star by Private in the following years (including in The Pyramid , The Gigolo , Tatiana ) and Woodman also married, but divorced in 2000 and left the porn industry.

Another “trademark” of Woodman is the obligatory anal intercourse in his photos and films, which is required of practically every actress. For example, part 44 of Woodman Castings X (2003) contains one of the first appearances of the Czech model Anetta Keys as a porn actress and the only known anal sex scene of her career.
