Pietro called Tempesta ( Peter the Impetuous, the Stormy , * probably 1292; † August 29, 1315 in the Battle of Montecatini ) was Count of Eboli since 1306. He was the eighth son of Charles II , King of Naples , and Maria von Hungary.

In 1309 he received Nocera and Isernia and exchanged Montescaglioso for Sorrento and Castellammare di Stabia . He entered the service of his brother, King Robert , in his fight in Tuscany against the Staufer Party ( Ghibellines ) and Uguccione della Faggiola , and was the commander of 300 horsemen. Pietro received the title of Vicar of Tuscany, Lombardy , Romagna and the cities of Bertinoro and Ferrara and became general captain of the Guelfi party in Tuscany.

He spent the jubilee year in Siena and then went to Florence , where he lived with the Mozzi family. The city granted him a scholarship of 4,000 florins . On September 29, 1314 he conquered Arezzo , while at the same time Uguccione took Lucca . Eleven months later, on August 29, 1315, he was so badly wounded in the battle of Montecatini while fighting the army of Pisas and Lucca under Uguccione as commander that he died on the retreat to Fucecchio . His body was never found.
