The Piloña is a river in Asturias in Spain.

geography

The Piloña arises from the confluence of the Rio Fuensanta and Rio Viao at 43 ° 21 '22 "  N , 5 ° 27' 13"  W , near the hamlet of Ceceda in the municipality of Nava . It flows into Arriondas at 43 ° 23 '20 "  N , 5 ° 11' 4"  W in the Rio Sella .

Commercial shipping does not operate on the Rio Sella; however, canoeing and rafting are widespread.

Barrages

Barrages in the usual sense, there is the Rio Piloña only in very small proportions as in Sevares, however, numerous water mills produce now also energy for the end user.

Important tributaries

The Río Cúa, Río Punegru, Río Mampodre , Río La Lavandera, Río Espinaréu and Río Pra feed the Piloña.

The river is known among sport fishermen for its abundance of salmon and trout, as well as other game fish.
