Father Pirmin Johannes Holzschuh OCist (born April 10, 1968 in Illertissen , Bavaria ) is a German - Austrian priest monk . He was prior of the Stiepel Monastery from 2011 to the end of January 2018 .

Life

His hometown the Kreuthöfe

The Upper Swabian home of Pirmin Holzschuh was the Kreuthöfe , a district of Dietenheim . He grew up on his parents' farm as the third of five children. After leaving school, he trained as a carpenter and businessman in the wood industry . After twelve years of professional activity, he joined the late career seminar in St. Pirmin in Sasbach in the Ortenau in 1997 . In 2001 he came to the Cistercians in Heiligenkreuz and studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Philosophical-Theological College Benedict XVI. In 2006 he made solemn profession . In 2008 Cardinal Christoph Schönborn donated him the ordination of priests .

Holzschuh initially worked for several years as guest master of the monastery and church rector in Siegenfeld . In 2009 Abbot Gregor Henckel-Donnersmarck appointed him director of the cross-diocesan seminary Leopoldinum in Heiligenkreuz.

In 2011, the appointment was made to the Prior of the daughter monastery in Bochum district Stiepel by Abbot Maximilian home . At the end of January 2018, he resigned as prior. From autumn 2018 he will work as a pastor in two parishes of the Heiligenkreuz Abbey.
