Füzesabony (German: Wabing ) is a town and administrative center in the small area of Füzesabony in Heves County in Hungary . 8,088 inhabitants (2008) live in an area of 46.34 km².

history

In Füzesabony-Gubakút a settlement of the Neolithic Alföld linear ceramics from the 6th millennium was excavated. Füzesabony is also the eponymous site for the late Bronze Age Füzesabony / Otomani culture.

traffic

The M3 motorway runs south of the urban area . The Budapest-Miskolc railway line connects Füzesabony to the baroque town of Eger . The route to Debrecen branches off here. The (too) large station dates back to 1893, and was designed by Ferenc Pfaff , the same architect who previously designed the Rijeka (Fiume) station . There is a tradition that mixed up station plans are the cause of the Füzesabony station. However, this is apparently not based on facts.
