The Piz Lunghin is 2780 m above sea level. M. high mountain in the canton of Graubünden ( Switzerland ). It is located south of Piz Grevasalvas and about two kilometers northwest of the Malojapass in the area of the political municipality of Bregaglia .
Lunghin Pass watershed
Northwest of Piz Lunghin is the Lunghin Pass ( 2,645 m above sea level ), the most important watershed point in Central and Western Europe, as the watershed between the three largest seas that surround Europe meet here ( European main watershed ). The water flows northwards via Gelgia / Julia and Rhine to the North Sea / Atlantic , southwards via Maira / Mera and Po into the Mediterranean and eastwards via Inn and Danube into the Black Sea .
Routes
A marked hiking trail leads from Pass Lunghin to Piz Lunghin. The pass is easily accessible on foot from all four directions. The most famous three-hour climbs are those directly from Maloja (south-east) and those from Bivio over the Septimerpass (north). In winter the Piz Lunghin is a worthwhile ski touring mountain.
