Polog region
The Polog region ( Albanian Rajoni Pollog , Macedonian Полошки регион Pološki region ) is one of the eight statistical regions , the highest administrative level in the Republic of North Macedonia . The administrative unit is divided into nine opštini, which represent the lowest administrative level. The region is located in the north-west of the country and borders Kosovo and Albania . Neighboring regions are the Skopje region in the east and the south- west region in the south .
Regions in North Macedonia do not fulfill any administrative tasks, but are only there for purely statistical purposes. In some cases, however, they form historical regions that are and were economically and culturally linked.
