Port Republic is a city in Atlantic County , New Jersey , United States . In the census of 2000 had a total population of 1,037 was recorded.

According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 22.5 km² , of which 19.7 km² is land and 2.7 km² (12.10%) is water.
history
Two structures and sites in the area are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) as of October 24, 2018, the Amanda Blake Store and the Port Republic Historic District .
Demographics
As of the 2000 census, there are 1,037 people, 365 households, and 289 families in the city. The population density is 52.5 inhabitants per km². 95.08% of the population is White, 1.64% African American , 0.39% Native American , 0.58% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.68% from other races, and 1.64% mixed race . 1.06% are Latinos of any race.
Of the 365 households, 36.7% have children under the age of 18. 64.9% of them are married couples living together, 10.1% are single mothers, 20.8% are not families, 16.7% are single households and 7.9% are people over 65. The average household size is 2 , 82, the average family size 3.17.
