Pouffonds is a village with 409 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the French municipality of Marcillé in Deux-Sevres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). The inhabitants are called Maisonnaysia .
The formerly independent municipality of Pouffonds was merged with Saint-Génard to form the Commune nouvelle Marcillé on January 1, 2019 . Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée . It belonged to the canton of Melle in the Arrondissement of Niort .
geography
Pouffonds is located about 27 kilometers east-southeast of Niort . The municipality of Pouffonds was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Léger-de-la-Martinière in the north, Chail in the east, Saint-Génard in the south and west and Melle in the northwest.
