Pratyush Buddiga (born May 11, 1989 in New Zealand ) is a professional American poker player .

Personal

Buddiga left Wellington for California with his Indian parents when he was five . He lived there for two years before moving to Colorado Springs . In 2002, at the age of 13, Buddiga won the Scripps National Spelling Bee for $ 12,000 and a scholarship. He later studied economics at Duke University and graduated in 2011. Buddiga lives in Colorado Springs.

Poker career

Buddiga has been participating in renowned live tournaments since 2010 .

In June 2011 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and cashed in four tournaments of the No Limit Hold'em variant . a. he finished 613th in the main event . In mid-April 2012, he finished eighth at the main event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Berlin and secured prize money of 72,000 euros . At the beginning of June 2013, he also finished eighth at the main event of the GuangDong Asia Millions in Macau and received the equivalent of 770,000 US dollars.
