history

Presenchen was first mentioned in a document in 1479. The Lower Sorbian name Brjazynka means the small birch grove .

The area around the place was already inhabited by the Lusitzi , a Slavic tribe from Lower Lusatia, around the year 850 . From this time the Slavic rampart Borchelt was located south of the place , which was built on a valley sand island in the swamp area.

The place Presenchen was verifiably owned by Mr. von Mickwitz in 1589 and from 1667 it belonged to the Drehna estate as a Vorwerk . From 1921 until its expropriation in 1946, the village belonged to Karl von Wätjen .

In addition to the manor, Presenchen also had stables and a sheep farm , the latter being converted into cattle stables around 1960. Furthermore, fish farming was carried out in the fish ponds around Presenchen by the Dreha fish economy. In 1953 the agricultural production cooperative Presenchen was founded.

In Presenchen there was a volunteer fire brigade and a kindergarten , which was housed in the former Gasthaus zur Linde . The next school was in Schlabendorf. In addition, Presenchen did not have its own church.

On July 1, 1950, Presenchen was incorporated into Schlabendorf am See . In 1987/88 Presenchen was completely excavated in favor of the Schlabendorf-Süd open-cast lignite mine . Since 2004, the Wanninchen Nature Park Center has been commemorating the abandoned sites in the area with a permanent exhibition.
