The Cerutti il ​​Caffè Promotion League 2019/20 is the 8th season of the third highest Swiss division in men's football. 16 teams take part. It started in August 2019 and should end in May 2020. Due to the coronavirus measures , the start of the second half of the season, which was planned for the end of February 2020, was initially postponed. On April 30, the season was finally canceled, so it was not rated and there are no promoters and relegators. Yverdon-Sport and FC Rapperswil-Jona sued in vain at the International Sports Court .

The Promotion League was held for the eighth time in all, of which the sixth time under the current name.

The sixteen clubs in the Promotion League should each compete twice against each opponent, once in their home stadium and once away. In total, each team should play 30 games. The top-ranked team that is not a U-21 team should be promoted to the Challenge League at the end of the season , and the two last-ranked teams relegated to the first division .
