Listed here are the articles that treat the history of the Ottoman Empire in today's national histories. Since the Ottoman Empire comprised numerous present-day states or regions in it over many centuries, there are several provincial historiographies . The year numbers indicate the rule over parts or the entire state of today. This is either direct rule or nominal suzerainty of the Ottomans (see degrees of rule in the article Eyâlet ).
