The provincial parliament of the Grenzmark Posen-West Prussia was the provincial parliament from 1922 to 1933, i.e. the parliament of the Prussian province Grenzmark Posen-West Prussia .

history

After the First World War was lost , considerable parts of the former provinces of Posen and West Prussia fell to Poland . The parts of the two provinces that remained German first became a municipal association and, by law of July 21, 1922 (which came into force retroactively from July 1), the province of Grenzmark Posen-West Prussia. A provincial assembly was set up like the other provinces (this was called the municipal assembly until the province was formed ). He was thus functional successor to the provincial parliaments of the provinces of Posen and West Prussia . The term of office of the first provincial assembly was shortened in order to hold the next elections at the same time as those of the other provinces. A total of four provincial parliaments were designated, which held a total of 18 sessions.

The first state parliament met five times between August 7, 1922 and August 7, 1925. Three of these provincial parliamentary meetings took place in the sanatorium Obrawalde , two in Schneidemühl . The 30 members were distributed among the parties as follows: DNVP 10, German Economic List 1, German People's Party 3, Center 7, DDP 1, SPD 7, List Pastor Grochowski. City councilor Wilhelm Rösler from Schneidemühl was elected chairman of the provincial parliament. The former mayor of Brandenburg / Havel, Johann Caspari, became governor. In addition, two state councils were elected.

The 1924 budget was 209,500 gold marks .

The second state parliament met six times between January 22, 1926 and September 26, 1929. Two provincial parliamentary sessions took place in Obrawalde, after which the parliament met in the newly built state house in Schneidemühl. The 30 mandates were divided as follows: Working group 16 (of which DNVP 11, DVP 2, Deutschvölkische Freiheitsbewegung 1, National Association of the District of Bomst 1, Association of ethnic associations 1), Center 7, SPD 7.The chairman of the provincial parliament became the manor owner of Goerne, the chairman of the provincial committee was the district administrator of Voelkening. The following were elected as councilors: Hans von Meibom and District Administrator Baron Knigge (AG) and District Administrator Rick (SPD, center) or, from the fourth meeting, Caspari instead of Rick. After the death of Volkenigs on September 26, 1929 Max Krause became chairman of the provincial committee.

In 1927 the budget comprised 6,679,250 RM and in 1928 already 8,707,858 RM. The provincial tax was 10% in 1929.

The third state parliament met five times from January 21, 1930 to January 31, 1933. The 30 mandates were distributed as follows: National Block 11, Center 9, SPD 6, Block der Mitte 4. Chairman of the Provincial Parliament remained von Goerne, while Wilhelm Rösler was elected as Chairman of the Provincial Committee. Caspari, pastors Georg Remer and Hans von Meibom became state councilors.

The Provincial Parliament of the Posen-West Prussia border region elected three representatives to the Prussian State Council in accordance with the Prussian constitution .

After the seizure of power by the Nazis in 1933 the County Council was newly appointed newly according to the election results of the general election and lost its role as the people's representatives.
