Pula is a municipality in the Hungarian Veszprém county .
location
Pula is 25 km from Veszprém , 15 km from Tapolca and is north of Lake Balaton . Pula is the easternmost town on the Eger River .
history
Objects from the early Iron Age have been found near Pula .
In the 13th century there was the monastery of Tálod near the present village , but it was abandoned in the 16th century and blown up under Turkish occupation.
Pula was first mentioned in writing in 1357 as Pola. At that time the surrounding lands belonged to the Rátóti family. The population began to leave the area in the 16th century.
70–80% of the inhabitants of the village were Germans, who moved here in 1746 at the invitation of the Esterházy family . The "German atmosphere" has been preserved to this day.
Until 1950 the village belonged to Zala County .
