The Puni , in the South Tyrolean dialect the Puni, also called Punibach or Planeiltalbach , is an approximately 26 kilometer long tributary of the Etsch in the Vinschgau in South Tyrol . It rises in the Ötztal Alps in the Planeiltal , which is its upper course. Just below Planeil , it reaches the Adige Valley on the Malser Haide . It then flows through the village of Mals and then runs largely parallel to the Etsch in the Vinschger valley floor from around Glurns . A little below Schluderns , the Puni takes in its largest tributary, the Saldurbach , which drains the Matscher Valley , before it flows into the Etsch around 1.5 kilometers further.
