Putina is the capital of the San Antonio de Putina province in the Puno region in southern Peru . Putina is located in the district of the same name . The city had 10,746 inhabitants at the 2017 census.

Geographical location

The city, located at an altitude of 3878  m , is located in the Altiplano of Peru, northwest of Lake Titicaca . It is located at the confluence of the Río Tuyto in the Río Huancané . Lake Titicaca is about 40 km away. The city of Juliaca is located 70 km south-southwest of Putina.
