QANTM is a brand of the SAE Institute and a private school for training in the areas of game design , computer game programming and interactive media, with ten branches worldwide, five of them in German-speaking countries.
history
The first school of its kind, Qantm College , was founded in Brisbane , Australia in 1996 as a national innovation project by several universities, including the Queensland University of Technology , James Cook University and Griffith University . In Australia, the Qantm College itself now has an official university status.
The institute has been run by the SAE group since 2004 . A year later, the Qantm Institute in Munich was the first subsidiary in Europe. In 2006, a further Qantm Institute was opened in Amsterdam , followed by new branches in Berlin , Melbourne , Sydney and London in 2007 . There are now also branches in Vienna , Zurich , Cologne , Singapore and Perth .
In the past, the Qantm Institute worked repeatedly with the German game magazine GameStar and was often the subject of reports in other magazines. The Qantm is also regularly represented at computer game trade fairs, such as gamescom .
Training
Two courses of study are offered at the branches in German-speaking countries, each with a specialization in programming and design. After one year, the Diploma of Interactive Entertainment is awarded. After a total of two years of study, students can then either earn a Bachelor of Science (programming direction) or a Bachelor of Arts (design direction), which is awarded in collaboration with Middlesex University, London . In cooperation with Middlesex University there is also the possibility of obtaining a Masters degree afterwards .
It is also possible to switch to any other QANTM institute during your studies so that you can, for example, take a semester abroad.
