Quarry , in Germany also cover name Quarry , is an American drama series of the transmitter Cinemax . It is based on characters and motifs from the crime series of the same name about a hit man by Max Allan Collins , who also wrote the script for an episode.
The pilot episode of the series was ordered in April 2013, but the series was only ordered in February 2015. The first and only season was broadcast from September 9, 2016. In May 2017, the broadcasting station announced that the series would be after one season was discontinued.

Main character Mac Conway served as a sniper in the US Marines and returned to Memphis in 1972 with his friend Arthur from the Vietnam War. In front of the airport an angry crowd demonstrates against the returnees, because the men are accused of having been involved in a war crime.
Arthur and Mac hope to get back to their old life as soon as possible. But the stigma of the alleged war crime makes it difficult for them to find a job.
A criminal network contacts the veterans and offers them the option of doing “special” tasks. Arthur accepts the job as a hit man and takes an advance payment for several contracts. Mac initially refuses. When Arthur demands a friendship from Mac, both of them fall into the clutches of the gang boss Broker.
The first job goes wrong, Arthur is shot. Broker asks Mac to repay the advance. But Mac can't find the money with Arthur and is forced to work off the debt through more murders.
