Quest expedition / crew list
The Quest Expedition ( Shackleton – Rowett Expedition 1921–1922) was the last Antarctic expedition of the polar explorer Ernest Shackleton . Due to the sudden death of Shackleton and inadequacies of the expedition ship, the trip was canceled prematurely. Originally the expedition consisted of 24 participants, but only 19 men were on board when the Quest departed from South Georgia . Leonard Hussey served as escort for Shackleton's body. Eriksen, Mooney and Bee-Mason had left the ship before it reached South Georgia. The sports sailor Gerald Lysaght (1868-1951) accompanied the crew only from Plymouth to Madeira .
