The Arlanzón is a river in Spain . It rises southeast of the town of Pineda de la Sierra in the Sierra de la Demanda mountains . At first it runs in a westerly direction. From Burgos it flows to the southwest and flows north of Torquemada into the Río Pisuerga .

Attractions
The mountainous and wooded landscape on the upper reaches of the Río Arlanzón and the Romanesque church of San Esteban in Pineda de la Sierra are worth seeing . On its middle course, it is above all the historical provincial capital Burgos with its Gothic cathedral , its many historical buildings, museums etc. that attracts visitors from all over the world. The historically significant town of Pampliega on the lower reaches of the river also impresses with its location and the Renaissance church of San Pedro .
