Róbert Döme (born January 29, 1979 in Senica , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak ice hockey player who was last under contract with HC Dukla Senica in the 1st division until 2010 .
Career
Róbert Döme began his career as a hockey player in the youth of HC Dukla Trenčín , for whom he was active until 1995. He then moved to North America in the International Hockey League , in which he first played in the 1995/96 season for the Utah Grizzlies , and in the 1996/97 season for the Long Beach Ice Dogs and Las Vegas Thunder . He was then selected in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft in the first round as a total of 17th player by the Pittsburgh Penguins , for which he played in the National Hockey League and their farm teams in the following three seasons . For the season 2000/01 Döme returned to his Slovak homeland, where he ran up for HC Oceláři Třinec and HC Rabat Kladno .
After this season Döme went back to North America, where he was under contract for one season each with the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins , Saint John Flames and Lowell Lock Monsters for the next three years . He also completed a game for the Calgary Flames in the NHL in the 2002/03 season . After two seasons in the Swedish Elitserien at Södertälje SK , Döme played in the 2005/06 season for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League , and in the 2006/07 season again in the Elitserien for MODO Hockey Örnsköldsvik , with which he was Swedish Champion has been. The center then returned to Slovakia again, where it was champion with HC Slovan Bratislava in the 2007/08 season . Because of this success, he and his team qualified for the newly founded Champions Hockey League , in which he played in all four Slovan group games and scored two points. The 2009/10 season he spent at HC Dukla Senica in the first division , the second Slovak division. He has been without a club since then.
