Róbert Szikszai (born September 30, 1994 ) is a Hungarian athlete who specializes in discus throwing.

Athletic career

Róbert Szikszai gained his first international experience at the Junior World Championships 2012 in Barcelona , where he was eliminated from the qualification with a width of 56.51 m. The following year he won the Junior European Championships in Rieti with 64.75 m with the easier discus and in 2014 he qualified for the European Championships in Zurich , where he failed to make a valid attempt in the preliminary round. In 2015 he won the bronze medal at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn with 58.82 m and the following year he was eliminated from the qualification at the European Championships in Amsterdam with 58.01 m. In 2017 he took part in the Summer Universiade in Taipei for the first time , where he won the bronze medal behind the American Reginald Jagers and Alin Alexandru Firfirică from Romania with a throw at 60.91 m . In 2018 he took part in the European Championships in Berlin for the third time , but this time again with 61.82 m he did not make it to the final. The following year he finished fifth at the Student World Games in Naples with 61.51 m.

In 2018 Szikszai became the Hungarian champion in the discus throw.
