Alin Alexandru Firfirică (born November 3, 1995 in Suceava ) is a Romanian athlete who specializes in discus throwing.

Athletic career

Alin Alexandru Firfirică gained his first international experience at the Junior European Championships 2013 in Rieti , where he was eliminated from the qualification with a width of 48.62 m. The following year he took part in the Junior World Championships in Eugene in the shot put and in the discus throw, but did not reach the final with 17.55 m and 58.23 m in both competitions. In 2015 he won the U23 European Championships in Naples with 60.64 m and two years later he won the silver medal at the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz with a throw at 60.17 m. He then took part in the Summer Universiade in Taipei for the first time and also won the silver medal there with 61.13 m, behind the American Reginald Jagers . In 2018 he qualified for the European Championships in Berlin for the first time and made it straight to the finals, in which he finished seventh with 63.73 m. The following year he won the silver medal behind the Australian Matthew Denny at the Student World Games in Naples with 63.74 m and then came fourth at the World Championships in Doha with 66.46 m in the final . He then won the World Military Games in Wuhan at the end of October with a width of 63.88 m.

Between 2015 and 2019 Firfirică became the Romanian champion in discus throw every year. He is a student at Suceava University .
