Rörvik is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province Jonkopings and the historical province of Småland . It is part of the municipality of Sävsjö , has 523 inhabitants (as of 2010) and is located in the south of the municipality.

Rörvik harbor on the banks of the Allgunnen

Rörvik is surrounded by several lakes. To the east is the Allgunnen , on the banks of which there is a small harbor. The island of Ljungö is in front of the place in the lake . To the south is the small Fållekullsgölen . There is a bathing establishment at Svinasjön to the west of the village . The Hillen extends north of the village . The area around Rörvik is characterized by the hilly landscape of the southern Swedish highlands with extensive forests.

The place is located on the Södra stambanan railway that connects Malmö with Katrineholm and was created when the line was built. The railway line was opened in this section on January 1, 1914. However, Rörvik is currently not served in passenger transport. On July 1, 1916, a post office opened in town. Rörvik Timber AB , listed on the stock exchange, has its origins in Rörvik. The wooden houses of the Rörvikshus company are also produced here.

In Draget , a little south of Rörvik, there is the Dragets skolmuseum school museum .

The Swedish author Carin Rickardsson (* 1942) grew up in the Rörvik area.
