Rüdiger Bartelmus

Rüdiger Bartelmus (born January 8, 1944 in Asch , Sudetenland ) is a Protestant theologian and professor at the Institute for Old Testament Studies and Biblical Archeology at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel .

Life

Rüdiger Bartelmus studied Protestant theology, Catholic theology and philosophy in Munich , Erlangen , Heidelberg and Zurich . In 1969 he passed the First Theological Examination. From 1969 to 1974 he worked as a religion teacher at various Munich schools, in 1972 he passed the second theological exam. Only one year later, the regional church council of the Evangelical Lutheran awarded him . Church in Bavaria the title of pastor .

From 1974 to 1976 Rüdiger Bartelmus worked as a lecturer for Hebrew at the Evang.-Theol. Faculty of the LMU Munich, in 1976 he received his doctorate in theology under Professor Klaus Baltzer . From 1977 to 1993 he was Senior Academic Advisor for Languages ​​of the Old Testament at the Protestant Theol. Faculty of the LMU Munich . From 1993 to 1995 he taught at the same position as a professor for the Old Testament and biblical-oriental languages. In 1995 he was appointed professor for the Old Testament at the Theological Faculty of Christian Albrechts University in Kiel .

In addition to his scientific work, Rüdiger Bartelmus, as a trained mountain tour guide of the German Alpine Club, has been a mountain guide for a mountaineering school for many years . He is married and has six children.
