The Rüstersiel is a multi-purpose ship of the Federal Republic of Germany.

history

The ship was built in 1988 under the hull number 37142 by Deutsche Industrie-Werken in Berlin . The keel was laid on March 1st, the launch on September 15th, 1988. The ship was completed in November of that year.

The ship is used by the Weser-Jade-Nordsee Waterways and Shipping Office for the control and supply of fixed navigation signs and lighthouses as well as the island of Minsener Oog . It is named after the Wilhelmshaven district of the same name .

Technical data and equipment

The ship is powered by two eight - cylinder four - stroke diesel engines from the manufacturer Motorenwerke Mannheim (type: TBD 234 V 8) with an output of 261  kW each. The motors act on two fixed propellers via gears . The ship thus reaches a speed of 12  knots .

There is a transverse thruster control system in the bow . The ship has ice class E.

Two generators with an apparent power of 53 kVA each were  installed for the power supply on board . The ship is equipped with a working crane with a lifting capacity of 1.4 t at a 7 m radius.
