The RK Pelister Bitola is a North Macedonian handball club from Bitola . With RK Metalurg Skopje and RK Vardar Skopje , the club is one of the strongest teams in North Macedonia.
history
The RK Pelister Bitola was founded in 1946 under the name Pelagonia; he was the first Macedonian handball team. From the 1983/84 season Pelister took part in the 1st Yugoslav League. In the 1987/1988 season, the team reached the quarter-finals of the EHF Cup for the first time and was eliminated from the GDR against ASK forward Frankfurt . The club was the most successful Macedonian team in the 1990s, when they regularly qualified for European competitions through nine national titles. In the EHF European Cup Winners' Cup in 1995/96 , the club only just failed in the semifinals against the German representative TBV Lemgo . The greatest international success was the final participation in the EHF Challenge Cup 2001/02 against Skjern Håndbold . In 2005 the national double was won again.
