The Rabenwaldkogel is a striking mountain with an altitude of 1280 m above sea level. A. The highest elevation in Joglland in Eastern Styria .
location
The Rabenwaldkogel is located on the south-eastern edge of the Alps ( mountain range east of the Mur ) and is in front of it, which gives it a distinctive position and offers a good view of the eastern Styrian hill country . It dominates the Stubenberg Basin and merges into the East Styrian Riedel landscape in the south .
Mining
At the Rabenwaldkogel, talc is extracted in open-cast mining. In addition to talc, leukophyllite is mined. It is transported by cable car to the mill in Anger , where the minerals are processed into high-quality raw materials for industry. The open pit mine is operated by the mining company Imerys .
tourism
The Stubenbergsee and Herberstein Castle with the attached zoo and nature park are the main attractions of the region. The raven forest itself is suitable for family hikes. At the foot of the mountain is the Hödl Hof, an important station on the 1st Austrian Schnaps educational trail.
