Radio 7 , Radio Sputnik 7 or RS-7 is a Soviet amateur radio satellite that was developed and built by the central radio club of the DOSAAF . RS-7 carries a linear transponder for the Mode A .
mission
The satellite was on 17 December 1981 together with RS-3 to RS-6 and RS-8 with a Russian Cosmos-3M - carrier rocket from the Plesetsk cosmodrome launched in Russia. RS3A in Moscow was named as the command station.
On August 26, 1985, a distance record of 6897 km between the stations N9CUE in Indianapolis ( QTH locator EM69xq) and KH6CC in Hawaii (BK29kg) was registered via RS-7 .
