Radio Chemnitz is a private radio broadcaster from Chemnitz . It started broadcasting on May 23, 1993. From 1999 to July 22, 2007, the Chemnitz station was called 102 Punkt 1.

Radio Chemnitz's main program comes from Broadcast Sachsen GmbH & Co. KG, which also stocks Hitradio RTL . The local news and the afternoon program with Karsten Kolliski are produced directly in Chemnitz. The repertoire of the station with the claim “The best music!” Mainly includes music from the 1980s to today.

General information

Radio Chemnitz is a member of the broadcasting network in the Sachsen Funkpaket . The transmitters specially set up for the major cities and metropolitan areas of Saxony each broadcast a full 24-hour program, including Radio Chemnitz. The broadcaster addresses a target audience aged 30 to 49 years. He mainly plays the adult contemporary music format. In addition, there are hourly messages which are always sent 10 minutes before the hour and for this reason are advertised with the claim "Always informed 10 minutes earlier to the point". In addition, traffic reports are sent every half hour as well as current information and event notices for the region.

history

On May 23, 1993, the then Lord Mayor of Chemnitz, Peter Seifert, pressed the start button. The first broadcast on 102.1 Radio Chemnitz was presented by Heike Leschner and Konnie Oeser †.

Tino Utassy has been Managing Director of Radio Chemnitz since the start of the broadcast.

Broadcast house

Radio Chemnitz has been producing the program since February 2003 in the Medienhaus on Carolastraße. Radio Chemnitz is located there under the same roof as the MDR's local studio. Since the start of broadcasting, Radio Chemnitz had its broadcasting center in the medical center on Clausstrasse before the station moved directly to Chemnitz city center in February 2003.

In December 2009, Radio Chemnitz received a new broadcasting studio. Jürgen Engelbrecht is the studio manager.
