Primaton is a private radio broadcaster from Schweinfurt , which was founded on September 14, 1991.
history
The studio was initially located on Spitalstrasse in Schweinfurt's old town and a few years later moved to Carl-Zeiss-Strasse in the Hafen-Ost industrial estate . The station's original slogan was “More Melody” and stood primarily for German-language pop music . In the meantime, the program was oriented more towards international oldies , the advertising slogan at that time was "Super oldies and today's best". Today, the station focuses more on current chart music, mixed with “classics” from international rock and pop history. The slogan "The greatest hits of all time" and "Das Main-Rhön Radio" was followed by "The most beautiful hits for the most beautiful region of Franconia". In 2016 there was a major relaunch of the program with a new station logo as well as the new claim "cult hits and today's best". In 2018 the additional claim is "Primaton - We are Main Rhön".
In addition to the music program, the station offers a news program with a regional focus on the Main-Rhön planning region , every full and every half hour. Part of the news program is listener-supported traffic information for the Main-Rhön region, which is updated four times an hour all day.
