Rawil Nesamowitsch Khabutdinov

Rawil Nesamowitsch Chabutdinow ( Russian Равиль Незамович Хабутдинов ; born December 15, 1928 in Simnik, today Kemerovo Oblast ; † November 1, 1997 in Oktyabrsky ) is a former Soviet weightlifter .

Career

Rawil Chabutdinow comes from Novosibirsk . He began lifting weights in the late 1940s and it took him until the mid-1950s to reach the top Soviet league. From 1955 to 1960 he belonged to the absolute Soviet and thus the absolute world elite. He started for "Spartak" Oktabrask. At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 he won the silver medal in the lightweight (at that time up to 67.5 kg body weight), which he still had the European title in 1957 in Katowice , also in the lightweight, followed. In the same year he was also the Soviet champion in front of the new star Viktor Buschujew .

After that he only started in middleweight (up to 75 kg body weight). In this weight class he could not quite match the successes in the lightweight.
