Rainer Frieb

Rainer Frieb (born January 25, 1949 in Starnberg ; † May 25, 2017 in Vorarlberg ) was a German actor .

Life

Rainer Frieb studied acting at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich from 1969 to 1972 . In the 1972/73 season he was engaged at the Stadttheater Oberhausen , then at the Bremen Theater , in the 1979/80 season at the Münchner Kammerspiele and from 1982 to 1986 at the Hamburger Schauspielhaus .

From 1987 he lived in Vienna , where he was a member of the theater Der Kreis by George Tabori , in whose group he was active from 1980 to 1982. From 1990 Frieb took part in various productions at Hans Gratzer's Wiener Schauspielhaus , from 1992 he was seen under the direction of Emmy Werner at the Wiener Volkstheater , where he was a permanent member of the ensemble under Michael Schottenberg from 2005 to 2015 and most recently in the 2014/15 season embodied the role of Ernst Heinrich Ernesti in Die Physiker as well as Peter Sequence in a Midsummer Night's Dream . He was also regularly seen at the Reichenau Festival , most recently in 2016 in the stage version of Die Demonen von Heimito von Doderer . In Alma - A Show Biz at the end he embodied the composer Gustav Mahler .

In 2003 he was awarded the Karl Skraup Prize for best acting.
