Rainer Hinderer (born April 30, 1962 in Heilbronn - Sontheim ) is a German social worker and politician of the SPD . He has been a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg since 2011 .

education and profession

Hinderer grew up as the eldest of three sons of a master blacksmith and his wife in Heilbronn and attended the Damm Primary School , the Robert-Mayer-Gymnasium and the Mönchsee-Gymnasium there . After graduating from high school in 1981, he refused military service and did community service with the German Red Cross . Following an apprenticeship as a carpenter , he studied social affairs and economics in Kassel and graduated as a social worker. After working as a social worker and head of social services at Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe , he headed the Diakonische Jugendhilfe Region Heilbronn e. V. Besides his mandate in the state parliament, Rainer Hinderer does not have any other professional activities.

Political activity

In 1991, Hinderer joined the SPD Baden-Württemberg , where he was deputy chairman of the Heilbronn local association from 1995 to 2006, and also deputy chairman from 2000 to 2006 and, since 2006, chairman of the Heilbronn-Stadt district association. In 2004 he was elected to the municipal council of the city of Heilbronn and has been chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there since 2016.

In the state election in Baden-Württemberg in 2011 , he won a second mandate in the Heilbronn constituency . In the SPD parliamentary group he was the spokesman for labor market and social policy and head of the parliamentary group's social working group. In the state parliament he was a member of the social and home affairs committee.

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2016 , Hinderer again achieved a second mandate in the Heilbronn constituency . Since then he has been the spokesman for health, addiction and labor market integration in the SPD parliamentary group. In the state parliament he is chairman of the social affairs committee and a member of the interior committee.

Other memberships and honorary positions

Since 2002 Hinderer has been an elected member of the 13th, 14th and 15th regional synod of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg . There he belongs to the Open Church discussion group.

Family and private

Hinderer has been married since 1995 and has two sons and a daughter with his wife Annemarie.
