Rainer Wolter

Rainer Wolter (born February 28, 1959 in Rastatt ) is a German chef .

Life

Rainer Wolter has worked in well-known positions, including from 1977 to 1979 at Willi Schwank in the Stahlbad restaurant in Baden-Baden (two Michelin stars ), with Josef Viehhauser in Le Canard in Hamburg and one year with Eckart Witzigmann in the Aubergine restaurant in Munich . From 1985 to 1994 Wolter was head chef in the Hamburg restaurant La Mer at the Hotel Prem , which under his management was awarded a star by the Michelin Guide in 1994 .

In addition to his work as a restaurateur and chef , Wolter intensified his efforts from 1988 to 1990 to found the Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe , Section Germany, of which he was elected president from 1990 to 1994 and of which he was appointed honorary president in 1995 by Otto Fehrenbacher.

Wolter became known to a wider audience through the television program “Cooking with the Masters” on Sat.1 . He was also a participant in the Masters of Food and Wine in Carmel , California in 1987 and 1988 . In 2003 he was team chef for Team Gerolsteiner at the Tour de France.

Awards
