Ralf Böhme (born May 5, 1972 in Halle (Saale) ) is a former German handball player and today's coach . As a player, he was used as a middle or left backcourt player and played for SV Blau-Weiß Spandau and TSV GWD Minden in the Bundesliga . Most recently he coached SV Fortuna '50 Neubrandenburg.

Career

player

The 1.94 m tall Böhme started playing handball at SG Dynamo Halle-Neustadt in 1978 . In 1985 he moved to SC Dynamo Berlin , which became SC Berlin in the course of German reunification in 1990 and from which the handball department for HC Preußen Berlin was separated . Prussia qualified for the Bundesliga in the last season of the GDR Oberliga and so Böhme played in his first senior year in the highest German league. However, the men's handball department joined SV Blau-Weiß Spandau , which now took the place of Prussia. Spandau was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga and after two more years Böhme moved to class competitor TSV GWD Minden , with whom he was able to celebrate promotion to the Bundesliga in the first year. In 1998 he went back to the 2nd Bundesliga for TV Jahn Duderstadt , where he also acted as a player-coach for half a year. From 2000 to 2002 he was still on for VfL Fredenbeck and ended his playing career there.

Trainer

In the following season Böhme worked as an assistant trainer in Fredenbeck and then trained the youth of SV Fortuna '50 Neubrandenburg for two years . In 2005 he accepted an offer from TSG Söflingen. However, he was released after six months and was in charge of HSG Langenau-Elchingen in the 2006/07 season. This was followed by a job as a coach of the female A-youth at Buxtehuder SV . But here too, the separation followed after about six months. From October 2008 to 2012 he returned to VfL Fredenbeck. At first he was responsible for the 1st team, then in the youth division. Parallel to his youth work in Fredenbeck, Böhme trained the men of the HSG Bützfleth / Drochtersen. Another double engagement followed: this time with the women of Bützfleth / Drochtersens and TSV Bremervörde , where he asked early in January 2014 to terminate the contract in order to take over the women's team at SGH Rosengarten-Buchholz . Here, too, he said goodbye early after six months, as he was offered a full-time job at a school in Neubrandenburg and at the same time was taking care of the A-junior team at SV Fortuna Neubrandenburg. After one season he took over the men's team and ended his job in the summer of 2017 for health reasons. In February 2018 he took over the A-Juniors and 1st women's team at SV Fortuna 50 Neubrandenburg.
