Ralf Willing
Ralf Willing (born February 25, 1949 in Vreden ) is a German trumpeter .
life and work
Ralf Willing received piano and trumpet lessons from his father, the military musician and bandmaster Gerd Willing , from the age of eight . He made his first appearances in his father's orchestras (Städtische Kapelle Ahaus and the big band Gerd Willing). In 1964, at the age of 14, he won the youth music competition in the trumpet category .
From 1964 to 1969 he studied at the Conservatory in Münster with the main subjects trumpet, piano and double bass . During this time he played as an assistant in the symphony orchestra at the Munster Municipal Theaters . After completing his studies, he played consecutively in the Charly Habel Quintet (1969-1970), in the Teddy Stauber Orchestra (1970-1972) and was band leader in Tony Marshall's accompanying orchestra (1972-1974).
From 1974 to 1979 he was first trumpeter with Hugo Strasser and studio trumpeter in Munich . From 1979 to 1991 he played under the pseudonym Ralf Anthony in his own Ralf Anthony show band , which was also known to the public under the name Isar Express as the main band at events and as a backing band and touring orchestra for many stars such as Ireen Cheer , Howard Carpendale , Costa Cordalis , Chris Roberts , Marianne and Michael and Heino , also under the name Ralf Willing and his Musikanten-Express .
He toured Germany, France, the United States, and Canada, and made solo appearances in Understand Fun , Music Is Trumps , Popular Music Super Hit Parade, and other television shows.
Willing developed a new method of teaching with etudes for trumpet, which was published in 2013.
In addition to his concert activities, Willing also works as an arranger and composer . He has had his own recording studio since 1989 , where he makes recordings of various musical styles. The musical styles range from easy listening to smooth jazz , swing and brass music to classical music and original compositions.
Ralf Willing lives in Eichstetten am Kaiserstuhl in the Breisgau district .
