Ramón Benito de La Rosa y Carpio (born September 19, 1939 in Higüey ) is retired Archbishop of Santiago de los Caballeros .

Life

Ramón Benito de La Rosa y Carpio was ordained a priest on January 23, 1965 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Santo Domingo and titular bishop of Cerbali on December 2, 1988 . The Pope personally donated him episcopal ordination on January 6 of the next year ; Co-consecrators were Edward Idris Cassidy , substitute for the State Secretariat , and José Tomás Sánchez , Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples .

On March 25, 1995 he was appointed Bishop of Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia en Higüey and on July 16, 2003, Archbishop of Santiago de los Caballeros .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on February 23, 2015.
