Rangen is a Franconian hamlet belonging to the town of Graefenberg , which is located in the northwest of the natural spatial landscape unit Graefenbergerflächenalb .

The village is one of 15 officially named districts of the town of Graefenberg, located in the southwestern part of Upper Franconia . Rangen is located about four kilometers west-northwest of Graefenberg and is at an altitude of 486  m above sea level. NHN .

history

The high courts in Rangen was until the end of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation from the the city of Nuremberg belonging Pflegamt Hiltpoltstein exercised a village and community rule existed in the then existing four property location is not. In the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Rangen was incorporated into the city of Graefenberg together with the entire municipality of Walkersbrunn on July 1, 1976 and at the beginning of 2019 the hamlet had 24 inhabitants.

The connection to the public road network is established by a communal road, which, coming from the west on the state road St 2236 , continues in an east- south- east direction to Kasberg. Another communal road leads down the slope to Walkersbrunn.
