Thuisbrunn is a district of the city of Graefenberg and is located in Franconian Switzerland .

history

In 1007, King Heinrich II gave the city of Forchheim and surrounding villages to the Diocese of Bamberg , including “Tuosibruno”, today's Thuisbrunn. The place has a thousand-year history. In 1403 he was the Nuremberg burgrave Johann III . awarded.

From 1403 to 1803 Thuisbrunn belonged to the Principality of Brandenburg-Kulmbach-Bayreuth . During the First Margrave War , the place and the castle were largely burned down in 1449. In 1450 the village came under the administration of the noble family of Egloffsteiner . After the Reformation , the place became Protestant . During the First and Second Margrave Wars , the place and the castle were destroyed again. The castle has been in ruins since that time , only one building was prepared as a bailiwick . In 1803 Thuisbrunn fell to the Electorate of Bavaria . The Vogtshaus became the State Forestry Office .

The former community was on May 1, 1978 at the course of administrative reform , together with the districts Haidhof , Hohenschwärz, Neusles, Höfles , Dörnhof after Graefenberg incorporated. The rest of the former community area came to Obertrubach .

The former coat of arms , approved in 1971 and made by the heraldist Karl Haas from Kronach , is described as follows: "Square of silver and black with a narrow blue corrugated bar, topped with a golden square tower".

Attractions

The neo-Gothic church from 1857, the Thuisbrunn castle ruins and the Todsfeld valley to the west are well worth seeing .

Others

The Elchbräu private brewery, reopened in 2007, is located in the village.

Five Seidla Steig

This is where the Fünf-Seidla-Steig ends, a hiking trail opened in 2008 between the four breweries in the municipality of Gräfenberg and the Weißenohe monastery brewery . It is named after the Franconian beer mug, the Seidla . The breweries produce a total of 21 different beers.
