Raphaëlle Tervel (born April 20, 1979 in Besançon , France ) is a former French handball player who played for the French national handball team for many years .

Career

Tervel played for JA Maîche from 1996. Two years later, Tervel ES joined Besançon, where she was under contract for a total of ten seasons. During this period she won the French championship three times, the French Cup four times, the League Cup twice and the European Cup Winners' Cup once . The all-rounder then switched to the Spanish first division club BM Bera Bera . From January 2010 she was under contract with the Norwegian top club Larvik HK until the end of the 2009/10 season , with whom she won the national championship. Then Tervel returned to Spain, where she played for SD Itxako . In 2012 the club ran into financial difficulties, which is why her contract was not extended and she joined the Hungarian club Győri ETO KC . She ended her career there in the summer of 2014. In both seasons in Győr, she won the championship, the national cup and the EHF Champions League .

Tervel completed 249 games for the French selection, in which you get 372 hits. The right-hander took part in the Olympic Games with the French team in 2000 , 2004 , 2008 and 2012 . She was also active for France at the 2001 , 2003 , 2005 , 2007 , 2009 and 2011 World Championships and at the 2000 , 2002 , 2004 , 2006 and 2008 European Championships . Her greatest success with the national team was winning the 2003 World Cup in Croatia.

Since December 2014 she has been part of the coaching team of the French second division club ES Besançon. Since the summer she has been the head coach of ES Besançon, which has been competing in the top French division since the 2015/16 season.
