The Rathausplatz ( Italian: Piazza Municipio ) is located in the old town of the South Tyrolean capital Bozen at the exit of the Bozen arcades .

The square is characterized by the representative town hall built in 1907, designed in the Munich neo-baroque style .

The Rathausplatz, with the arcades that end here to the east and the streets of Bindergasse , Gummergasse, Weintraubengasse and Piavestrasse, form an important crossroads in the old town of Bolzano.

The oldest name of the open space, which was founded in the late 12th century, was “Unterer Platz”, in contrast to “Oberer Platz”, today's fruit square . The name is documented in 1417 as am Untternplatz , when a public court assembly of the city and regional court of Gries-Bozen was held here. At the end of the arbor was the Niedertor, which served as the city gate . In 1396 Niklas Vintler had one of St. Trinity to build a dedicated chapel , which was torn down after its profanation in the course of secularization , but gave the place the name "Trinity Square" until the early 20th century and is depicted as a fresco by Rudolf Stolz on the bay window of an east-facing building .

Today's passage at the Amonnhaus with the Dr.-Julius-Perathoner-Passage was only created in 1911 as a result of the incorporation of Twelve Malgrei to Bozen.
