plant

Toomas Raudam made his debut in 1968 in Noorus magazine with a short story and published his first collection of novels in 1983, which received critical praise for its perfected, polished style. After that, the author published books in almost every genre: novels, poems, children's books, memoirs, essays and film scripts. He often dealt with authors from world literature, as can be seen from the titles of his books in which Edgar Rice Burroughs , Bob Dylan , James Joyce , Franz Kafka and Marcel Proust appear.

Like Mati Unt , Raudam also undertook postmodernist excursions, in that he “processed foreign material into a new text: His Tarzan's Adventure in Tallinn (1991) [transferred] ... motifs from the well-known Tarzan books into the Tallinn film world.” A playful, mystical and deconstructivist one Element can be seen in all of his texts.
