Shakirsyanov was respectively junior world champion with the relay in 2008 and 2009 and reached his first top 10 placement in the Eastern Europe Cup in November 2008 in the sprint in Vershina Tjoi with ninth place . He made his debut in the cross-country skiing world cup in January 2010 at the Tour de Ski . His first podium place in the Eastern Europe Cup reached Shakirsyanov in November 2010 with second place over 15 km classic in Vershina Tjoi. In February 2011 he finished seventh with the third Russian relay at the World Cup in Rybinsk and in November 2011 he won his first classic Eastern Europe Cup race over 10 km in Vershina Tjoi. At the beginning of 2012, Shakirsyanov was also U23 world champion in skiathlon . At the 2013 Winter Universiade in Lago di Tesero , he won bronze over 10 km freestyle and mixed team sprint, silver with the relay and gold in the skiathlon.
