Space research

As space exploration a is interdisciplinary research field called that the scientific basis of spatial and space planning forms. This includes both applied and basic research. The object of knowledge form part spaces of the solid Earth's surface in the different scale levels (z. B. cities , regions ). Depending on the scale and political definition, there are different names and focuses, such as urban research and regional science .

One goal of spatial research is to record, describe and explain the structures, processes and modes of operation of spatial problems between people and the environment . The goal of sustainable spatial development is based on these findings .

Spatial research is carried out in university institutes , academy institutes and non-university research institutions.
