Rebekka Hartmann
Rebekka Hartmann (* 1981 in Munich ) is a German violinist . In 2012 she was awarded the Echo Klassik in the category Best Soloist Recording of the Year for her recording Birth of the Violin .
life and work
Rebekka Hartmann began her musical training in Munich at the age of five with Helge Thelen. With him she learned to play the violin using the Suzuki method . After completing school, she studied violin in Munich with Andreas Reiner and until 2003 at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music , Los Angeles with Alice Schoenfeld . She refined her technique in international master classes, among others with Rainer Kussmaul and in collaboration with Josef Kröner.
Rebekka Hartmann's musical repertoire covers the entire spectrum of violin works from the beginnings in the early baroque to contemporary music . In addition to classical violin pieces, she also played several world premieres , including works by Håkan Larsson and Anders Eliasson . Together with the pianist Margarita Oganesjan she gives concerts worldwide as a duo . This collaboration resulted in the 2015 album Views from Ararat with works of classical music by Turkish and Armenian composers.
Hartmann plays around 40 concerts in Germany and abroad every year. She worked with orchestras such as the Aachen Symphony Orchestra , the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra , the German Chamber Orchestra Berlin, the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn , the Munich Sound Management Orchestra, the Salzburg Chamber Soloists , the Munich Bach Orchestra and the Philharmonic Collegium of the Leipzig Bach Academy. Rebekka Hartmann gave concerts in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South America and in the USA. She has been invited to festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival , the Aachen Kurpark Classix , the Weilburg Castle Concerts , the Franconian Music Days , the Herrenchiemsee Festival, the Hohenloher Cultural Summer, the International Lübeck Chamber Music Festival, and the Gümüslük Classical Music and Cappadocia Music Festival.
In addition to her concert activities, the Munich-based musician teaches up-and-coming talents, including Lorenzo Giannotti. Rebekka Hartmann has been playing a violin by Antonio Stradivari from 1675 since 2009 .
