Reckenberg is one of 22 districts of Pommelsbrunn in the district of Nürnberger Land .

geography

The hamlet of Reckenberg is located west of Arzlohe on the Kieselmühlberg plateau and can be reached from Pommelsbrunn via Arzlohe as well as via a junction at the entrance to Pommelsbrunn.

Place name

The most likely explanation for the place name is that a certain "Richo" or "Recho" settled here. The following spellings have existed over the centuries:

  • Rekgenberge (legacy of Ulrich V von Schlüsselberg to his sons Ulrich VI and Gottfried I von Schlüsselberg 1288)
  • Regkenperg (Salbüchlein from Emperor Charles IV from 1366/68)
  • Reckenperg (recorded by the Nuremberg residents in 1525)

history

The first documented mention of Reckenberg goes back to 1288. In 1806 Nuremberg and its territory became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria; Reckenberg was assigned to the municipality of Pommelsbrunn. In 1972 Reckenberg became part of the large municipality of Pommelsbrunn.
