Reg. Armstrong Motors was an assembly plant for motor vehicles and thus part of the automotive industry in Ireland .
Company history
The company was founded on December 18, 1958 in Dublin . Reg Armstrong directed it. Initially, it assembled and sold motorcycles from NSU Motorenwerke . 1960 came assembly and sale of motorcycles from Honda so. The NSU two-wheelers were given up. In the same year the assembly of automobiles began. The parts continued to come from NSU. In 1962, Opel assembly was added. The distribution was limited to 20 of the 26 regions of Ireland until 1965, as O'Shea's Limited was responsible for County Carlow , County Cork , County Kilkenny , County Tipperary , County Waterford and County Wexford . In 1968 NSU was given up. In 1973 the company successfully sued the State of Ireland against the ban on importing complete vehicles. Opel production ended in 1974 or 1975. Between 1976 and 1978, Mini mounted, it is possible to advance from the Brittain Group were mounted.
Reg Armstrong died in November 1979 as a result of a traffic accident. General Motors then withdrew the company from selling Opel vehicles.
It is not known what the company did after that. It was disbanded on June 5, 1996.

Record , Kadett and Commodore have come down to us from Opel .
In addition, the Mini was assembled from 1976 .
